OUR Aims & Objectives 

Improve the approach taken by FRS’s to individuals that identify with quiltbag characteristics and to work with other blue light services and other Category 1 & 2 responders as defined by the Civil Contingencies Act services to do the same;


  • Provide corporate guidance on which FRS and other  blue light services and other Category 1 & 2 responders as defined by the Civil Contingencies Act services can base policy and procedure
  • Develop the understanding of the risks within our quiltbag communities
  • Provide good practice advice based on lessons learnt


Inspire and educate FRS’s to actively reduce demand on response resources and to work with other blue light services and other Category 1 & 2 responders as defined by the Civil Contingencies Act services to do the same by;


  • Improving the safety, health and well-being of people living in their homes
  • Promoting and supporting engagement with partners to reduce inappropriate lifestyle choices that increase risk to those individuals
  • Promoting and supporting accepting, safer and healthier life styles and family environments, focussing on vulnerable households
  • Engaging with the business community to assist in developing better understanding of safer and more inclusive environments and how this helps the development of an organisation
  • Effectively engaging with communities and partner agencies to ensure collaborative working.


Encourage supportive workplaces for people who identify with a quiltbag characteristic and to work with other blue light services and other Category 1 & 2 responders as defined by the Civil Contingencies Act services to do the same in order to;


  • Influence all stakeholders to ensure that the inclusion agenda remains high profile and that FRS’s are more commonly seen as a vehicle to deliver wider community risk reduction
  • Improve the understanding and awareness of workplace risks
  • Encourage the better management and use of employees that identify as quiltbag
  • Promote and increase the awareness that enhanced corporate, social and community responsibility is owned by all of us
